RTN. UTPAL MAJUMDAR

Graduate Science from the University of Calcutta and did his Post Graduation in Law from the same University subsequently Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Modern Management.

He was a habitual participant in Extempore Speech and debate at College along with University level and stood first in All Bengal Inter College Debate Competition twice. He started his career with ICI India Ltd. and after that switched over to Clarion Advertising, joined in 1978 Jalan & Co., a reputed Solicitor Firm and became a partner therein. In 1984 he established his own firm and presently having 6 juniors and 15 Assistants. He is now practicing at Supreme Court of India and in the Calcutta High Court.

Our District Governor is in the Board of Directors of Howrah Mills Co. Ltd., Aarchi Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.,MKJ Enterprises Ltd., Ramrajya Overseas Pvt. Ltd.,H. R. Global Finance Ltd. and of many other companies. Rtn, Utpal Majumder is a life member of Eastern Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata. Also he is in the Appeal Committee of All India Football Federation (AIFF) and a member of Calcutta Club, Calcutta Rowing Club, Calcutta Swimming Club and Dakshin Kalikata Samsad. He was the President of Excelciors Club. In addition he is a member of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club and life member of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). Rtn. Utpal Majumder is a member of Film Certification Appellate Tribunal, an apex body of Film Sensor Board. He is the joint convener of High Court Club, Calcutta. Presently member of Rotary Club Of Calcutta South City, he served Rotary at club level on various capacities and was President in District level in 1997-98 and he was selected Assistant Governor thrice and held the post of Chairman of different committees including District Fellowship Committee, District Treasurer for the year 2000-01 and Chief Aide to the Governor for the year 2006-07. He is a multiple PHF and a life member of the Four-way test Association. He is married with Sunayana, a PHF and blessed with sons Souvik and Sagnik.
