RUNNER Volume: XVIII, NO. 31 dated: 23rd Feb 2011

The International Cultural Evening was held on 19th Feb 2011 at Kala Mandir, 48, Shakespeare Sarani, Kol -700017. Eminent personalities like Smt Mamata Shankar along with her ballet troupes and Smt Sraboni Sen performed and sang Ranbindra Sangeet during the event.Various International cultural programme in French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Japanese were performed by artists. President Sanjay, VP Rtn Dibyendu and Secy Tapas attended the programme. The Programme was organized by Youth Activities Committee of RID 3291. Club President Sanjay accepted the recognition for Co Hosting the event from District Governor Rtn Rajendra Khandelwal.

FORTHCOMING PROJECTS : NEW SCHOOL DRESS will be distributed on 26th Feb at 11 AM amongst 55 students at Behala Nabo Proyas, Behala a special school for physically challenged and mentally retarded children in India.Rtn Rajendra Khandelwal, District Governor RID 3291 will be the chief guest of the event.

MG NO. # 73741 35 patients as selected from Eye Check Up Camp as held at RCC Khandalia were operated for Cataract Surgeries on 19th Feb 2011 at Susrut Eye Foundation and Research Centre, Salt Lake.

MG NO. # 72074 Project Committee Meeting was held on Friday 18th Feb 2011 at Rotary Computer Centre 14B, Gallif Street, Kolkata -700003. President Rtn Sanjay, IPP Rtn Kuldip, Treasurer Rtn Sanjit and Secy Tapas were present on behalf of the club.

SAVING LITTLE HEARTS Rotary International President Elect. Rtn Kalyan Banerjee has inaugurated a programme on “SAVING LITTLE HEARTS” an initiative by RIHF to facilitate 5000 Heart Surgeries for the underprivileged children at Vidya Mandir, 1 Moira Street, Kol on 22nd February 2011. Mr. M.S.Dhoni, Indian Cricket Team Captain,will be the brand ambassador for this project. PP & IPDG Rtn Utpal, IPP Rtn Kuldip, Presi Sanjay, Secy Tapas & PP Pulak attended the programme on behalf of the club. Students of Khalsa High School, Bhowanipore was also present.

CLUB NEWS Club Secretary Rtn Tapas and IPDG & PP Rtn Utpal attended the inauguration programme of Hari Charan Garg ROTARY Mahanagar Netralaya at P-19, Beliaghata Main Road, Kol 85. The Netralaya was inaugurated by Sri Sovan Chatterjee, Hon. Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation and RIPE Rtn Kalyan Banerjee.
